"Where you drink champagne and it tastes just like cherry-cola"
"Girls will be boys and boys will be girlsIts a mixed up muddled up shook up world except for Lola" The Kinks
Soooo excited for this new Marc Jacobs perfume!
Marc Jacobs said that the 'Lola' is the "vampy older sister" to Daisy, the floral fragrance from last Spring, which I love. Both are complete with a cute flower on top but while Daisy is light and fresh Lola will be more sensual and flirtatious.
'Lola' hits stores in August and I can't wait, just check out the snazzy bottle top...

New Chanel Perfume Advert!

What a co-incidence, the same day I do a whole post about perfume adverts a brand new Chanel one comes along...
Apparantly it was released today because Coco Chanel had superstitions with the number 5 (hence the name of the perfume) so the advert has been released today on the fifth of the fifth, for her lucky number 5.
The new commercial, called "Train de Nuit” stars Audrey Tautou, the actress from Amelie who has replaced Nicole Kidman as the face of the fragrance.
It is another amazing Chanel No.5 advert and I think Tautou is the perfect face of Chanel as she resembles Coco a little herself and is playing her in an up and coming film.

“A women who doesn't wear perfume has no future"- Coco Chanel
I just love perfume ads.
As my media studies teacher would say “The brands use the soft sell technique to appeal to their target audience and even though they are primarily promoting the product they are also promoting a lifestyle that the viewer aspires to have.”
In my case that is so true.
I mean who doesn’t want to be whisked up into the air by helium balloons in Paris, like in the Miss Dior Cherie ad?
Who doesn’t want to stroll around in that divine red dress like Keira Knightley in the Coco Mademoiselle Ad?
Who doesn’t want to hack off their hair and clothes off a la Agy Deyn in the Jean Paul Gaultier Madame commercial?
And more importantly who doesn’t want to hair flip to the sound of CSS with Clemence Poesy in the Chloe advert?
Don’t even get me started on making out with Rodrigo Santoro like Nicole Kidman did in the masterpiece of an advert for Chanel No. 5.
